I would like a mini me that would do all these jobs for me , so if anyone manages to invent a cloning machine please contact me. I am more than willing to be the guinea pig.
2012 is now a hazy crazy memory. It was a great year for Kerfuffle and my work seemed to go down well Thank you to all that liked, bought and cooed over my work.
Highlights of this year had to be the Angus Open Studios 'Tentalicious' event in May and the Auchmithie arts festival event in August. Both events were held outside and were blessed with sunshine, good company and a great atmosphere.
Anyway, instead of me rambling on I will splurge heaps of images up of last years work and bring you up to date with me today.

Examples of Art work by Kerfuffle (Mhairi Scorgie) 2012. As you can see pen and ink is my love. If I am not in my studio you can often find me by the drawing board dotting away and driving everyone mad with the noise.
Highlights of 2012 Kerfuffle's trinket boxes.
It was goodbye to working with resin and casting plastics due to ill health that the chemicals caused, mainly brain mincing migraines and that was with all the safety masks on.
2012 brought me a selection of amazing tools through winning a design competition with these hearts with Cookson Gold. This gave me the confidence to carry on with what I had just started ; which was exploring and designing trinkets and lockets.
example of a few of trinkets and locket available last year from Kerfuffle.
Example of a few bits of jewellery from 2012.
This is just a short review of things last year. Thanks to everyone that bought and sold for me.
So what does 2013 bring to kerfuffle?
Well so far there are two more confirmed galleries that want my work. Studio222, Newburgh, Fife and The Tide Art Gallery, Portobello, Edinburgh. There will be a few more as time goes on,
but at the moment having 4 galleries and up to ten makers markets this year seems ample enough for my sawn through, pickled fingers.
I have also begun to experiment with kinetics and automata so expect to see a few bits and bobs that you can play with either on jewellery, lockets or trinket boxes. And here is the start of me playing..
This is from a series of work I am currently working on inspired by boats. The heart is on a wheel that spins around. I tend to fiddle with things when I am wearing jewellery ..so the idea that there is actually something to play with ..I love .
These are also from the same "Drfiting" Boat inspired series.
When I was playing with them I became inspired by Victorian flourishes and accents as perhaps a new way forward away from clockwork.
This is just the start of me mucking about with these accents. I also plan to play a lot more with colour this year through the use of eco enamels. The bottom locket is an attempt at a cross over of boat shapes with Victorian accents and materials such as pearls. Trying to give the old a contemporary feel.
The study of old jewellery is also allowing me to explore lace, so expect to see more lace inspired patterns in my work. Most of the lockets shown in the picture above will be available next week in studio 222, Newburgh Fife.
The beginning of 2013 gave me time to do some drawings whilst waiting for materials to arrive. These will be produced into prints and cards later this year.
So , so far its been a surprisingly busy start to the year with many exciting ventures ahead, which I will try and document faithfully on my blog! Fingers crossed!
Best wishes to everyone for 2013 .
